Your HOA Executive Board of Directors is Recruiting Member Residents to Join our Ecological Sub-Committee

The Village at Mountain Ridge is putting out the call for 5 or 7 of our member residents to join a sub-committee, defined and authorized by the Executive Board of Directors, to come together to create our collective “Ecological Plan” for our neighborhood subdivision.

This initiative is based upon the need to anchor one of our adopted Values of Ecological Stewardship.   This initiative was presented at our Annual Board Meeting held this past November, and was enthusiastically supported by all members that were in attendance.

Resident member Rose Pon, whom continues to serve on the Architectural Review Committee (ARC), and was elected to serve on the Executive Board of Directors at the Annual Meeting, has agreed to chair this sub-committee.

Areas for Policy Clarification and Creation for this Sub-Committee will include:

• Review of our exisiting policies and covenants pertaining to renewable energy, like the installation of Solar Energy Panels.
• Methods to Conserve Resources, like water and electricity, used by the HOA on common areas.  An example to accomplish this would include xeriscaping.
• Improvements to our current Recycling Program.
• Acceptable methods of Composting.
• Affording Irrigation and Landscaping Audits and Energy Efficiency Assessments for member residents to explore reducing their consumption of water and energy.
• AND, any ideas you might bring to the process!

NOTE: This specific Sub-Committee is the first of an anticipated series of initiatives that your Executive Board of Directors anticipates for our neighborhood Vision Casting Process which we have entitled:  “20/20 Vision Plan towards 2020.”  This process again was announced at our 2007 Annual Board Meeting, and as defined and explained will be anchored upon our Shared Values which were adopted at that time.
